Introduction to School Science Technician Work

A long day today. It's the first evening of three weekly 2 and a half hour sessions for would-be school science technicians that I'm running. Three of my team joined me to take a dozen or so interested persons through the essence of the job and a having a go preparing and trying out five Year 7 practicals, two chemistry, two physics and one biology (preparing and onion cell slide). We finished with everyone participating in the Iodine Clock demo (See http://www.techknow.org.uk/wiki/index.php?title=Iodine_clock ) It was challenging getting through all the work but it seemed to work well and everyone seemed to have enjoyed themselves. It was very enjoyable for me to have my colleagues joining in and making it a good evening.
